Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the age of 88 years. Paul Vinet, loving husband, and best friend of the late Catherine Theresa (nèe Keane). He will be sadly missed by his devoted children Craig, Lynn Menard (Gerry) and Mark (Jana). Loving grandfather of Haley (Scott), Joshua and Jacob. Proud son of the late Adolphe Vinet and Grace (nèe Scott). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and close friends.

A proud native of Montreal, Paul was raised in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (NDG). He enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the electrical industry spanning 54 years, where he served in numerous senior executive and management roles at Union Electric Ltd. (Montreal, Cornwall), Iberville Fittings Ltd. (Toronto), and RJS Electrical & Mechanical Sales Ltd. (Ottawa), where Paul served as both owner and President from 1985 to 2006, when he retired at the age of 71.

A devout Roman Catholic and Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, Paul’s kind, caring and gentle heart will be missed by so many. Those close to him will remember his incredible smile, sense of humour, genuine kindness, loyalty, generosity, sociable spirit, and dapper good looks.

Friends may pay respects to the family on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM at The Whelan Funeral Home, 515 Cooper Street, Ottawa (between Bay & Lyon). A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 25 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 5338 Bank Street South, Ottawa. Private Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Visitation Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Paul’s memory to Our Lady of the Visitation Church would be appreciated. A celebration of Paul’s life will take place in the future.
